Truncate First Word Figma Plugin

Last year while designing an MVP for a sports app, I found myself constantly needing to truncate players names, while switching between mobile and desktop. Manually editing each name over and over again became a bit tedious so I thought i’d develop a solution to solve this!

It’s a really simple solution, but one that saved me a ton of time. Select all of the text layers you want to truncate, and the Figma Plugin will truncate the first word down to the first letter, and add a period. Super simple!

It might seem like a small thing, but it’s been a time-saver for me, especially when designing Sports apps with player names or other products that require truncating text.
